LAZER WITCH TATTOO REMOVAL

How does laser tattoo removal work? How does laser tattoo removal work?

Lasers are used to target the pigment in tattoo ink that resides below the skins surface and shatters it. Your body’s natural immune system will then absorb, break down and dispose of the pigment over a period of time.

What machinery do you use?

We have the Fotona QX Max. This high performance single-pulse Q-Switched laser is one of the most advanced laser systems on the market.

The QX Max’s high-energy, single pulse technology is very efficient at removing pigments safely. We are able to use a larger spot size, high energy and fast repetition rate without loosing any power from the machine. This enables us to clear large tattoos quickly and effectively, also meaning that your laser treatment are more comfortable as you do not have to sit a long period of time for the treatment to be done.

The QX Max’s Nd:YAG laser provides the ideal platform for removal of the most common tattoo colours with both the wavelength 1064nm (black & dark coloured inks) and the 532 KTP (red, orange, pink inks) built into the machine as well as dye hand pieces 650nm (green inks) and 585nm (blue inks).

What does the treatment feel like?

The short answer is, laser hurts (sorry). But the treatments are usually very quick- small tattoos can take just seconds, while larger scale work may be only minutes of actual laser time.

Clients often associate the feeling like a hot rubber band being snapped on the skin.

During every laser treatment, we utilise the Zimmer Skin Cooling System, which is used to help reduce swelling and discomfort during laser tattoo removal. You are also welcome to apply numbing cream prior to appointment.

We will always ensure every laser treatment is as quick and comfortable as possible.

How much does each treatment cost?

The cost per session is predominately based on tattoo size.

We also take into account the amount of ink in the tattoo/if there is any negative space (bare skin in-between parts of the tattoo) and give clients the best price.

During your initial free consultation you’ll receive a formal quote.

The base rate starts from $80 per session.

How many treatments will I need?

The age, location and quality of the tattoo as well as the colours used, combined with your body’s ability to dispose of the ink will determine the total number of treatments needed. We will discuss this in depth with you during an initial consult to help establish realistic expectations.

On average a professional tattoo will generally require between 6-10 treatments for complete removal.

If you are wanting partial removal to allow for a good coverup without limitation, usually a tattoo will need 2-4 treatments depending on new design and we can work closely with your artist to maximise final tattoo outcome.

Each session is spaced a minimum of 8 weeks apart to allow for skin healing and tattoo fading.

Normally greater than 95% fading of a tattoo can be accomplished. It is however difficult to give an exact number of treatments a tattoo will need before achieving the desired result.

In saying that, you can be assured of the highest quality and best result.
